12月13日，Musk突然在X上放了雙足機器人Optimus"Gen 2"的最新Demo。這種突襲式的公告，很有的Musk的風格，影片也不長，僅僅1分44秒。Tesla的工程師後來在受訪時，還"壞心"的保證，Gen 2的Demo絕對不像Google對Gemini的Demo，絕沒有剪輯、快進、濾鏡，每個段落都是一鏡到底；但即便不這麼說，這段影片也非常"重量級"。
相對此前的版本，新版Optimus身高175公分、56公斤，能跳舞，能深蹲，還能在一隻手拿雞蛋後，用另一隻手抓取雞蛋，並放在煮蛋器上。海擇資本理解這已經是相當精細的動作，當這些動作都能做到後，距離用筷子進食或是用跳繩運動，似乎也僅是一步之遙。Optimus官方介紹，雙足人形機器人(bi-pedal, humanoid robot)的定位是替代人類執行不安全、重複或無聊(unsafe, repetitive or boring)的工作，目前看來這些需求基本已能滿足。
看到Optimus Gen 2，不禁讓人想到，如果它與生成式AI結合，不就與所謂的"仿生人(Androids)"並無二致？1982年，"銀翼殺手(Blade Runner)"電影上映時，影片中的2019年，有著能思考、有感情的仿生人，與人類僅一線之隔。Musk說，未來正式版Optimus的售價將遠低於2萬美元，亦即買得起車的人就買得起Optimus，其商化效率將超乎我們想像；而在Optimus之後，如果出現結合AI，能傾聽、能給建議的貼身祕書式機器人，也不奇怪。
我們是不是距離"Matrix"或是"Terminator"更近了？這是個有意思的問題。

On December 13th, Musk unexpectedly released the latest demo of the bipedal robot "Optimus Gen 2" on platform X. This surprise announcement is typical of Musk. The video is short, only 1 minute and 44 seconds long. Tesla engineers later assured in an interview that the Gen 2 demo was nothing like Google's demo for Gemini, with no editing, fast-forwarding, or filters, and each segment was shot in one take. Even without this clarification, it is amazing.
The new version of Optimus, compared to its predecessors, is 175 cm tall and weighs 56 kg. It can dance, squat, and even delicately handle an egg with one hand, transferring it to the other hand and placing it on an egg cooker. These are quite intricate movements. With such capabilities, using chopsticks to eat or jumping rope seems just a step away. Officially, the bipedal humanoid robot is designed to replace humans in unsafe, repetitive, or boring tasks, and it appears to be largely fulfilling these requirements.
Seeing the Optimus Gen 2, one can't help but think, if it were combined with generative AI, wouldn't it be indistinguishable from the so-called "androids"? In 1982, the film "Blade Runner" depicted a 2019 where androids capable of thinking and feeling were nearly indistinguishable from humans. Musk stated that the future retail price of the official version of Optimus will be well below $20,000, implying that anyone who can afford a car can afford Optimus. Its commercial efficiency will exceed our expectations. Following Optimus, the emergence of AI-integrated robots that can listen and offer advice, acting as personal secretaries, wouldn't be surprising.
Are we getting closer to the worlds of "The Matrix" or "The Terminator"?
