近期Google在自己的I/O大會上，說明了生成型AI聊天機器人Gemini的付費版本"Gemini Advanced"的相關功能。Google不喜歡稱呼Gemini Advanced為聊天機器人，將其正名為"智慧助理(AI assistants)"，姑且不論這樣微言大義是否讓受眾醍醐灌頂，海擇資本更感興趣的是，新版本在用AI進行旅行規劃時，確實在功能上有超過競爭對手的明確突破。

根據谷歌副總裁兼Gemini體驗總經理Sissy Hsiao的展示，Gemini Advanced能將個人化旅遊推薦結合航班f時間、酒店地點，餐飲喜好，推薦規劃並安排動線與時間。舉例來說，當以"家庭去邁阿密過勞動節周末假期，家人喜歡藝術，餐廳想吃海鮮，允許從Gmail導入已預訂的航班和酒店資訊"為提示詞時，AI能給到對景點/酒店/餐廳等目的地的推薦與到達時間，比如"預估您的航班會在下午4:28降落，AI已建議先前往特定海鮮餐廳用餐，而非在酒店check-in後再前往該餐廳用餐。AI同時估計取得托運行李和出關準備需1小時、機場到餐廳需要20分鐘，並推薦時間為晚上7點30分且距離適合的3家餐廳。考慮到成員有小孩，AI推薦了達拉斯動物園及附近的3家冰淇淋店；其他選擇包括達拉斯植物園和佩羅自然科學博物館，在每個博物館行程都建議了周邊的3三家冰淇淋店。如改變了開始時間，AI也會自動重置計畫，改推薦更適合的目的地。

目前AI Overviews功能僅適用於美國用戶，公司說明稍候會在更多國家/地區發布。海擇資本認為，目前以生成式AI與大語言模型為定位的聊天機器人很多，在旅遊領域，如Booking(NASDAQ: BKNG)、攜程(NASDAQ: TCOM)、Expedia(NASDAQ: EXPE)等各OTA推出的聊天機器人，也有一定的成熟度，但這些商業公司的聊天機器人，所推薦的行程更偏向對於特定空間產品的導購；Gemini Advanced的優勢在於兼具空間產品和時間動線，能具體結合交通工具與動線選擇，判斷所需要的時間，在旅遊推薦上既能更精準，也能更有彈性，目前這是OTA不容易贏過的。

Recently, at its I/O conference, Google detailed the features of the paid version of its generative AI chatbot, Gemini, dubbed "Gemini Advanced." Google prefers not to call it a chatbot but an "AI assistant." Regardless of whether this terminology enlightens the audience, Haizhe Capital is more interested in the fact that the new version represents a clear breakthrough over competitors in terms of its capabilities for AI-driven travel planning.

According to Google's Vice President and General Manager for Gemini experiences, Sissy Hsiao, Gemini Advanced integrates personalized travel recommendations with flight times, hotel locations, and dining preferences. For instance, if prompted with "a family trip to Miami over Labor Day weekend, with interests in art and seafood, and permission to import already booked flight and hotel details from Gmail," the AI can recommend attractions, hotels, and restaurants, along with arrival times. It might suggest dining at a specific seafood restaurant right after landing, rather than after hotel check-in. It estimates an hour for baggage claim and customs, and a 20 minutes drive from the airport to the restaurant, recommending a dinner time of 7:30 PM at a suitable nearby restaurant. For families with children, it suggests places like the Dallas Zoo and nearby ice cream shops, with additional options like the Dallas Arboretum and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, each coupled with ice cream shop recommendations. If the start time changes, the AI also automatically adjusts the plan to recommend more suitable destinations.

The AI Overviews feature is currently available only to users in the United States, with plans to expand to more countries soon. Haize Capital notes that while many chatbots in the travel sector, like those from Booking (NASDAQ: BKNG), Trip.com (NASDAQ: TCOM), and Expedia (NASDAQ: EXPE), have reached a certain level of maturity, they tend to focus more on guiding users to specific travel products. The advantage of Gemini Advanced lies in its integration of spatial products with time and travel itineraries, combining transportation options and time requirements for a more precise and flexible travel recommendation, a feature that OTAs currently struggle to match.
