每月境外訪日客源已止步於300萬人次
日本國家旅遊局(JNTO)近期公告2024年8月訪日外國遊客人數為293.3萬人次。值得注意的是,雖然該數據與2023年相比增加了36%,但是中止了連續七個月的歷史新高紀錄,這可能也意味著長達兩年的報復性旅遊潮,可能在當前的規模下恢復季節性因素。
8月訪日外國遊客人數為293.3萬人次,為3月以來首次低於300萬人次。按前五大客源地畫分,除了中國訪日人次較7月增長,並繼續為最大客源地外,其餘四地(韓國、台灣、香港、美國)相對7月都有不同程度的下滑,其中以美國為最,下降了31%。
隨著每月境外訪日客的人次逐漸止步在300萬人次,同時日本當地的反過度旅遊意識抬頭,單純增加旅遊元件式產品的供給會逐漸變成價格比拚。如何建立差異化產品清單、利用數據與科技改善營運效率、並在基於社會責任需求下設計產品,會成為旅遊產業鏈的供應商與採購商更應該考慮的事。

The number of inbound visitors to Japan has leveled off at 3 million per month.
The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) recently announced that the number of foreign visitors to Japan in August 2024 was 2.933 million. Notably, although this figure represents a 36% increase compared to 2023, it marks the end of seven consecutive months of record-breaking highs. This may also suggest that the two-year-long wave of "revenge travel" has begun to stabilize under current conditions, with seasonal factors now taking effect.
The August figure of 2.933 million foreign visitors is the first time since March that the number has fallen below 3 million. When looking at the top five source markets, except for China, which saw an increase in visitors and continues to be the largest source market, the other four markets (South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States) all saw declines compared to July. The United States experienced the largest drop, down by 31%.
As the monthly number of inbound visitors to Japan gradually stabilizes at around 3 million, and local awareness of overtourism rises, simply increasing the supply of basic travel products will increasingly lead to price competition. How to build a differentiated product list, leverage data and technology to improve operational efficiency, and design products based on social responsibility needs will be key considerations for suppliers and buyers across the tourism industry supply chain.
