薩爾瓦多全球首採比特幣為法幣，坎坷不斷

中南美國家薩爾瓦多在9/7成為採用比特幣作為法定貨幣的第一個國家。

先不談比特幣作為虛擬貨幣的諸多不確定性。比特幣作為法幣的其中一個困擾是，貨幣價值漲跌起伏過大；但中南美國家過去常有著因政治問題導致貨幣通貨膨脹的例子，相對來說也許比特幣的起伏算低了。

比較麻煩的是，薩爾瓦多相關人員的技術能力能不能跟上。兌幣機制開始時並不順利，顯得政府並沒有團隊能好好的處理這件事；而該國互聯網覆蓋率不到人口的50%，即便互聯網覆蓋的地區，也可能常斷線，似乎顯示著該國也沒有環境能培育相關人才。這可能才是最大的問題。

중남미의 엘살바도르는 9월7일에 처음으로 비트코인을 법정 화폐로 채택한 국가가 되었다.

가상화폐로서의 비트코인의 많은 불확실성은 잠시 논의하지 않는다. 법정 화페로서의 비트코인의 문제점중의 하나는 화페가치가 너무 많이 오르내리는 것이다. 그러나 정치적인 문제로 통화팽창이 발생했던 중남미 국가들에서는 상대적으로 비트코인의 변동성이 상대적으로 크지 않은 편이다.

문제는 엘살바도르에서 기술자들의 기술 능력 부족인 것 같다. 화폐 교환 메커니즘의 출발은 순조롭지 못했다. 정부가 제대로 대처할 팀이 없는 것 같았다. 엘살바도르는 인터넷 보급률이 인구의 50%에도 못 미치고, 인터넷을 사용할 수 있는 지역에서도 인터넷 접속이 끊기는 경우가 많다. 엘살바도르에서 기술인력을 양성할 여건이 안 되는 것 같다. 그게 가장 큰 문제일지도 모른다.

仮想通貨としてのビットコインの不確実性はともかく。法定通貨としてのビットコインの悩みの一つは、ビットコイン価格の変動が激しいことだ。しかし、中南米諸国では過去に政治的な問題で通貨安インフレを引き起こしたことがよくあったので、ビットコインの価格変動は比較的少なかったかもしれない。

厄介なのは、エルサルバドルで技術者の技術力不足という問題だ。両替メカニズムが始まった時は順調ではなく、政府がうまく処理できるチームがいないように見える。エルサルバドルのインターネット普及率は人口の50%にも満たず、インターネットを利用できる地域でも接続が繰り返し切断されるケースが多く、技術人材を育成できる環境がないことを示しているようだ。それが最大の問題なのかもしれない。

Sep.7 the South-Central American country, El Salvador, became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender.

Let's not mention the various uncertainties of Bitcoin as a virtual currency. One of the problems with Bitcoin as a legal currency is that its value has fluctuated too much. However, Central and South American countries have experienced currency inflation in the past due to political issues. Relatively speaking, the ups and downs in values of Bitcoin may be not that fierce.

The more critical problem lies in the technical capabilities of relevant personnel in El Salvador. The currency exchange mechanism did not go smoothly at the beginning, it seems that the government does not have a team that could deal with it properly; and the country's Internet coverage is less than 50% of the population, disconnections may happen frequently even in networked areas, which seems to indicate that their social conditions are not good enough to nurture relevant talents. This may be the biggest problem.
