美國白宮在12/24表示，拜登政府接受美國CDC建議，將在12/31取消基於Omicron對八個非洲南部國家所實施的旅行限制。

The Biden administration will lift travel restrictions on eight southern African countries over concerns about the Omicron variant on DEC.31, as recommended by CDC, the White House said on Dec.24.

This means it would terminate the curb only about one month (32 days)after the United States imposed travel restrictions on eight countries(South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Malawi) in southern Africa on November 29. We believe that it also means that the United States considered the variant is controllable after carefully analyzed Omicron. As White House spokesperson Kevin Munoz said, “The restrictions gave us time to understand Omicron and we know our existing vaccines work against Omicron”.
