WTTC認為美國2022年旅遊業產值有望超越疫情前
U.S. Travel & Tourism Rebounds in 2021, May Surpass Pre-Pandemic Levels in 2022

WTTC( (World Travel and Tourism Council))近期公告新研究成果，認為美國旅遊業產值在2021年能有近36%的YoY增長(1.5兆美金)，並有望在2022年YoY增長超28%，達2兆美金，超過疫情前的產值。歐美的報復性旅遊現象已經很明確，WTTC則是第一個正式為報復性旅遊數據背書的國際等級機構。

雖然WTTC給的是美國地區的預期，與IATA認為2024全球機票銷售額恢復2019量級並不互斥。不過我們認為，隨著新冠口服藥在各國通過緊急授權，新冠注射性疫苗也快速供過於求出現冗餘現象，IATA原本的預期也有往樂觀方向大幅調整的空間。

WTTC(World Travel and Tourism Council)는 새로운 연구 결과를 발표했다. WTTC 연구 결과에 따라 미국 관광산업의 GDP는 2021년에 거의 36% (1.5조 달러)의 전년 동기보다 성장을 할 것이며, 2022년에는 전년 동기보다 28% 이상 2조 달러에 달할 것이라고 전망했다. 코로나 19  발생 전에의 수준을 초과할 것이다. 미국과 유럽의 보복여행 현상이 뚜렷해진 가운데 WTTC는 보복여행 자료를 공식적으로 인증한 첫 국제등급기관이다.

미국 지역에 대한 WTTC의 예측은 2024년에 전 세계 항공권 판매가 2019년 수준으로 돌아갈 것이라는 IATA의 예측과 일치된다. 하지만 새로운 경구용 백신의 긴급사용이 승인되면서 주사형 백신의 공급과잉 상황이 급속도로 확산되고 있다. IATA의 기대치가 낙관적인 방향으로 대폭 조정될 여지가 있다고 본다.

WTTCは最近、新たな研究成果を発表し、米国の観光産業GDPのYoY成長率は2021年に36%近く(1兆5000億ドル)に達し、2022年には28%を超えて2兆ドルに達し、新型コロナ前の水準を上回ると予測している。欧米では報復性旅遊の実態が明らかになっているが、WTTCは報復性旅遊のデータを正式に認定する初の国際格付け機関となる。

WTTCは米国地域の予測を示しているが、IATAが2024年に世界航空券売上高が2019年レベルに回復すると予測していることと矛盾しない。しかし、新型コロナの飲み薬が緊急使用承認を受けたことで、新型コロナワクチンの過剰供給が急速に進んでおり、IATAの当初の見通しは楽観的な方向に大きく修正される余地があると考えている。

WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council) recently announced new research results, which shows that the output value of the U.S. tourism industry can have a YoY growth of nearly 36% (1.5 trillion US dollars) in 2021, and is expected to increase by more than 28% in 2022 YoY, reaching 2 trillion. U.S. dollars, more than the output value before the pandemic. The phenomenon of revenge travel in Europe and the United States shows clear, and WTTC is the first international organization to officially endorse revenge travel data.

Although WTTC's announcement is based on the US region's expectations, it is not mutually exclusive with IATA's opinion that the global air ticket sales would return to 2019 level in 2024. However, we believe that with the emergency authorization of COVID-19 oral drugs in various countries, the abundant COVID-19 vaccines will become oversupply rapidly, and IATA's original expectations also have substantial room to adjust in the optimistic direction.
