繼Airbnb(NASDAQ: ABNB)宣布退出中國國內市場之後，韓國最大的零售商樂天(Lotte, KRX: 004990)近期也公告將完全退出中國，除了從公告到執行的時間快，公司說明將在上半年就關閉中國總部，也就是最多再一個月就會關閉，同時也將註銷營業執照，這表示短期間無意重回中國市場。樂天近年在中國經營本就不好，此前受到地緣政治博弈影響，疫情則是最後一根稻草。

近期中國對疫情的防控普遍讓分析機構認為難以做到此前GDP增速5.5%的預期，除了IMF此前在四月底已降到4.4%外，Bloomberg則將全年降到2%。經濟減速意味著作為市場的消費能力降低，原本盈利普通的公司可能變成損益兩平，原本損益兩平的公司可能變得虧損，原本已經虧損的公司可能更無望看到曙光。企業只會投資在真的有潛力能盈利的地方。樂天在進入中國市場之際，也進入了印尼與越南市場，2022Q1樂天集團的零售事業在這兩地的銷售額為87億韓元，甚至比同期在韓國市場的銷售額高出11億韓元。

Airbnb與樂天的決策各有其原因，也並不奇怪。2022年實在有太多變化，讓我們對全球化與經濟情勢感到悲觀，無論如何還是希望一切往好的方向發展。

Airbnb(NASDAQ: ABNB)이 중국 국내시장 철수를 선언한 데 이어, 국내 최대 유통업체인 롯데(Lotte, KRX: 004990)가 최근 중국에서 완전 철수한다고 발표했다. 공고에서 정식 집행에 이르는 속도가 매우 빠르다. 롯데 중국 본사 폐쇄는 올 상반기 중으로, 지금부터 길게 잡으면 한 달 정도 걸린다. 그리고 사업자 등록증도 취소될 것이다. 롯데그룹은 단기간에 중국 시장 복귀 계획이 없다는 뜻이다. 최근 몇 년 동안 롯데는 중국에서 실적이 줄곧 좋지 않았다. 그 전에는 중국에서는 롯데가 지정학적 문제로 영향을 받고 있는데, 코로나19가 롯데를 좌절시킨 마지막 볏짚였다.

분석기관들은 최근 중국의 전염병 방역 정책을 감안할 때 중국이 당초 목표했던 GDP 성장률 5.5% 달성은 어려울 것으로 보고 있다. 국제통화기금(IMF)은 지난 4월 말에 중국의 GDP 성장률 전망치를 4.4%로 수정했고, 블룸버그 통신은 중국의 연간 GDP 성장률 전망치를 2%로 하향 조정했다. 경기 둔화는 시장의 소비 능력이 떨어졌음을 의미한다. 원래 이익이 많지 않은 기업이 아마도 손익의 한계점으로 돌아올 것이다. 간신히 본전을 지키는 기업은 적자를 볼 수도 있다. 가뜩이나 적자인 기업이 흑자로 돌아서기 힘든 상황이다. 기업은 진정으로 이익이 날 가능성이 있는 곳에만 투자할 것이다. 롯데그룹은 중국 시장 진출과 함께 인도네시아와 베트남 시장에도 진출했다. 롯데그룹의 인도네시아 · 베트남 소매 매출은 2022년 1분기 87억원였다. 심지어 같은 기간 한국시장 매출보다 11억원으로 높다.

Airbnb와 롯데의 결정에는 각자의 이유가 있는 것이라서 이상하지 않다. 2022년의 변화가 너무 많아 우리는 글로벌화와 경제 형세에 대해 비관하지 않을 수 없다. 하지만 아무쪼록 모든 것은 긍정적인 방향으로 발전하길 바란다.

Airbnb(NASDAQ: ABNB)が中国市場からの撤退を発表したのに続き、韓国最大の小売業者であるロッテグループ(Lotte、KRX: 004990)も最近、中国からの全面撤退を発表した。同社は中国本社を上半期中に閉鎖するとしている。つまり最大であと1カ月で閉鎖することになる。発表から執行までの期間は短い。また、同社は営業許可を抹消する。これは、当面は中国市場に復帰する意思がないことを意味している。地政学上の問題の影響を受け、ロッテグループはここ数年、中国で業績が悪くなっていた。そしてコロナ禍は、同社の中国事業を押しつぶす最後の藁となった。

調査機関は、中国が最近取っている防疫措置を考慮し、2022年ＧＤＰ成長率目標である5.5%の達成は難しいと判断した。IMFは4月末に中国の2022年ＧＤＰ成長率見通しを4.4%に下方修正したほか、Bloombergは中国の2022年ＧＤＰ成長率見通しを2%に下方修正した。経済成長の減速は消費力の低下を意味する。もともと利益が限られていた企業が損益分岐点にとどまる可能性があり、もともと損益分岐点に達していた企業が赤字に転落する可能性があり、もともと赤字経営の会社が更に希望の曙光を見出せなくなる可能性がある。企業は本当に儲かる可能性のある事業にしか投資しない。ロッテグループは中国に進出したとき、インドネシアやベトナムにも進出した。ロッテグループは、インドネシアとベトナム市場での2022年第1四半期における小売事業の売上高が87億ウォンで、同期間の韓国市場での売上高を11億ウォンも上回った。

Airbnbと楽天の決定にはそれぞれ理由があるのもおかしくない。2022年は変化があまりにも大きくて、グローバル化や経済状況について悲観的になっている。いずれにしてもすべてが良い方向に向かうことを願っている。

When Lotte joined the Chinese market, it also entered the Indonesian and Vietnamese markets, in 2022Q1, Lotte Group's retail sales in these two places were 8.7 billion won, even 1.1 billion won higher than the sales in the Korean market in the same period.

It's not strange that Airbnb and Lotte have their own reasons for their decisions. There are too many changes in 2022, which makes us feel pessimistic about globalization and the economic situation. In any case, we hope that everything will move toward a positive direction.
