海擇短評 Haize Comment：
過往被舉上神壇的Musk，在Forbes新一期財富排名中讓出世界首富位置，這似乎更增加了英美主流財經媒體譴責Musk的合理秀。
編列給Musk的罪名主要是認為他親手將Twitter葬送在歷史深淵，就如同過去的ICQ、MSN messenger，現在逐漸消失的Hive、Tumblr。財經媒體看到的Musk是反覆無常的暴發戶，他們看到Musk推出新版Twitter Blue後又收回Twitter Blue；看到他解雇了公司近一半的員工，然後幾天後又重新僱用其中的一些人；看到他對員工下了最後通牒——告知新版Twitter會“極其Hard Core”，需要“長時間高強度工作(“working long hours at high intensity)”，而這直接導致“人們不想犧牲自己的心理健康和家庭生活來讓世界首富變得更富有(People don’t want to sacrifice their mental health and family lives to make the richest man in the world richer)” 這句話流行起來。
Musk的工作要求變化非常快，在人情上他完全不柔軟，是真小人，我甚至懷疑他自己也享受這樣的人設。話雖這麼說，作為海擇資本的創始人，我認為多數的創業成功者恐怕都有類似的一部份。但是，他是不是一個善變的人與他運營Twitter會否成功無關，甚至我可以說，成功的創業家都會被理解為一定程度的善變，要觀察的是，他的善變到底是戰術上還是戰略上，如果是戰術上的善變，一般稱之為靈活。至於做為他的員工是否划算，則取決於每個人的價值觀以及能否跟Musk的KPI指標相處愉快。
從財務上看，Twitter早就遇到瓶頸，它是一家2020年虧損11.36億美金，2021年虧損2.25億美金，2022Q2單季就能虧損2.70億美金的公司。Twitter缺乏第二收入增長曲線，不需要7,000名員工；當用戶留在Twitter上只是因為缺乏合適的替代品，慢慢的，離開的用戶將多於新增的用戶，到了某一個時間點，廣告收入也會猝然下降。
Musk確實對Twitter給了指標，他的用語是讓Twitter變成一個“萬能應用(everything app)”——除了發文，還可以處理支付、社交對談，甚至還有商城功能。雖然不一定能做到，但Twitter確實有很好的起點、有已成功的參照(微信)可以對標、這世界也存在著龐大的空白市場、他也有在Tesla與SpaceX鑄造的執行力。我會期待且看好他能成功。

Musk changes quickly in terms of job requirements. He is not gentle at all in terms of human relationships, he is the real "villain" rather than the hypocrite, I even suspect that he enjoys such a personality himself. To be honest, as the founder of Haize Capital, I believe that most successful entrepreneurs share something in common. However, whether he is a fickle person has nothing to do with whether he will succeed in running Twitter, I even believe that successful entrepreneurs are fickle more or less. What we should pay more attention to is whether his fickleness is about tactics or strategy, if it is the latter, it is generally called flexibility. As for whether it is worthwhile to be his employee, it depends on your values and whether you can get along well with Musk's KPI indicators.
From a financial point of view, Twitter has long encountered a bottleneck. It is a company with a loss of $1.136 billion in 2020, a loss of $225 million in 2021, and a loss of $270 million in a single quarter in 2022Q2. Twitter lacks a second revenue growth curve and doesn't need 7,000 employees; when users stay on Twitter only because there is no suitable alternative, gradually, more users will leave than add, at a certain point in time, ad revenue will also drop suddenly.
Musk does have a goal for Twitter, which in his words is to turn Twitter into an "everything app" -- in addition to posting, it can also handle payments, social chats, and even a shopping mall function.
