韓國國家統計局(National Statistical Office)近期公告了2022年人口統計數據，其中40至44歲的新婚女性人數達10,412人，連續兩年超過20至24歲的新婚女性人數(9,985人)；而2021年是自1990年國家統計局開始統計編制相關數據以來，首次40至44歲的新婚女性人口首次超過20至24歲同口徑的人口。
數據還顯示，韓國結婚人數連續25年下降，在1997年達到38.9萬人峰值後，2022年僅有19.2萬人，下降約51%。其中以20至24歲的新婚女性人數降幅最大，達93%；相比之下，40至44歲的新婚女性人數則增加約50%。
統計局給到的解釋是，韓國的社會觀念持續改變，現在人們傾向認為婚姻不是生活的必需品；同時，不同年齡的人們對婚姻的觀感也不同，未成年不計，20至29歲是對韓國對婚姻最感悲觀的年齡段，僅有35.1%的人表示有結婚計劃；而40至49歲年齡段則有超過40%的人口對婚姻感到樂觀。
世界在改變，人們關心的事物也在改變。40歲踏入婚姻殿堂的人與20歲的價值觀不同，願意花錢的方向也不同，這一樣會催生新的需求、新的供給與新的產業鏈。

According to National Statistical Office of Korea (NSO), the number of brides aged 40-44 reached 10,412, exceeding the number of brides aged 20-24 (9,985) for two consecutive years. This was the first time that the older age bracket surpassed the younger one since 1990, when the statistics agency started compiling the relevant data.
The data also show that the number of marriages in Korea has been declining for 25 consecutive years, reaching a peak of 389,000 in 1997 and only 192,000 in 2022, a decline of about 51%. Among them, the number of brides aged 20 to 24 witnessed the sharpest decline at 93%; in contrast, the number of brides aged 40 to 44 has increased by about 50%.
The statistics agency explains that the social concept in Korea continues to change and people now tend to think that marriage is not a necessity of life; meanwhile, people's perception of marriage varies by age, those in their 20s were the most pessimistic age group on marriage, excluding teenagers, with only 35.1 percent of them saying that they have plans to get married. But more than 40 percent of those in their 40s remained optimistic about marriage.
The world is changing and so are the things people care about. 40 year olds entering the marriage hall have different values and a different consumption ideas than 20 year olds, which will give rise to new demands, new supplies and new industry chains.

통계청에 따르면 신혼 부부 중 40세∼44세 연령의 여성 수는 2022년 1만412명으로 20세∼24세 연령의 여성 수(9,985명)를 2년 연속 넘어섰다. 또한 2021년은 통계청이 관련 통계 작성을 시작한 1990년 이후 40세∼44세 신혼여성 수가 20세∼24세 신혼여성 수를 넘어선 것은 처음이다.
한국의 신혼 인구가 25년 연속 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 1997년에는 38만 9,000명으로 정점을 찍었다. 2022년에는 약 51% 감소한 19만2,000명에 그쳤다. 이 가운데 20세∼24세의 신혼여성 수가 93%로 가장 큰 폭으로 감소했다. 이에 비해 40세~44세 신혼여성 수는 약 50% 증가했다.
사회 통념이 변화하면서 결혼이 생활의 필수품이 아니라고 생각하는 사람이 늘고 있다고 통계청은 설명했다. 이와 함께 결혼에 대한 견해는 연령에 따라 달랐는데, 청소년을 제외한 20세∼29세에서는 결혼에 대해 가장 비관적이었고, 35.1%만이 결혼 계획이 있다고 답했다. 그러나 40세~49세 응답자 중 40% 이상이 결혼에 대해 낙관적이었다.
세상은 변하고 사람들의 관심사도 변한다. 40세에 결혼의 전당에 진입한 사람은 가치관과 소비관념이 20세와 달리 새로운 수요, 새로운 공급, 새로운 산업사슬을 산생하게 된다.
