基於區塊鏈的數位旅行憑證被認為有了新進展。3月底飛往阿魯巴島的旅客，將可能會被邀請參加試點，試點旅客未來重返阿魯巴島時，可以用數位旅行憑證取代護照。
阿魯巴島(Aruba)是荷蘭屬地，位於加勒比海中南部，地處委內瑞拉巴拉瓜納半島以北約29公里，也被稱為美國的巴里島。
本次數位旅行憑證計劃由SITA、Indicio與阿魯巴旅遊局共同推展，創建基於區塊鏈的APP來驗證旅客身分，取代護照。該計劃於3月27日起，從美國、加拿大與荷蘭飛往阿魯巴島的旅客，部分會被邀請下載“Aruba Happy One Pass”APP，以創建數位旅行憑證。創建之後，旅行者在入境口岸或酒店等場所，以刷手機方式讓電子閘門“讀取”其數位憑證，將旅行者的生物特徵與數位憑證的數據進行比較，以驗證是否獲准過境。從長遠來看，未來甚至也不需要電子閘門，可以結合監控鏡頭與讀取機驗證。
不過，海擇資本認為，理想與現實仍然會有巨大落差。試點項目可以證明技術可用性，但是數位旅行憑證終歸還會牽涉地緣政治中的信任問題，依當前國際政治現況，連Covid-19數位憑證都難有共識，用數位旅行憑證取代護照更加困難。當然，在特定的國家之間仍可能得以施行，比如歐美之間，中國、東南亞、中東與南美之間。

Blockchain-based digital travel credential(DTC) has allegedly made new progress, travelers flying to Aruba at the end of March will likely be invited to participate in a pilot program that will allow them to replace their passports with digital travel certificates when they re-entry to Aruba in the future.
Aruba is a Dutch dependency located in the south-central Caribbean Sea, about 29 kilometers north of Venezuela's Paraguana Peninsula, also known as the U.S. version of Bali.
The digital travel credential program is a joint effort between SITA, Indicio and Aruba Tourism to create a blockchain-based app to verify travelers' identity and replace passports. Starting March 27, some travelers flying to Aruba from the United States, Canada and the Netherlands will be invited to download the "Aruba Happy One Pass" app to create a digital travel certificate. At ports of entry, hotels and other venues, the electronic gate can scan travelers' digital credentials, compare traveler's biometric characteristics with digital certificate data to determine if they are allowed to cross the border. In the long run, it does not even need electronic gates in the future, can be combined with surveillance cameras and readers to verify.
However, Haize Capital believes that there will still be a huge gap between the ideal and reality. The pilot project can prove the usability of the technology, but the digital travel certificate will still involve the trust issue in geopolitics after all. It was hard to reach a consensus even for Covid-19 digital certificate, it will be even more difficult to replace a passport with a digital travel credential. Of course, it may still be possible to use it between specific countries, such as Europe and the United States; China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South America.

네덜란드령으로 카리브해 중남부에 위치한 아루바는 베네수엘라의 파라과이 반도에서 북쪽으로 약 29킬로미터 떨어진 곳으로 미국판 발리로도 불린다.
이 디지털 여행 자격증명 프로젝트는 SITA, Indicio 및 아루바 관광청이 공동으로 출시했다. 목적은 여객의 신원을 확인하여 여권을 대체하기 위해 블록 체인 기반 응용 프로그램을 만드는 것이다. 3월 27일부터 미국, 캐나다, 네덜란드에서 아루바로 가는 일부 여행객은 디지털 여행 자격증명을 만들기 위해 '아루바 해피 원 패스(Aruba Happy One Pass)'앱을 다운로드하도록 초청된다. 입국장, 호텔 및 기타 장소에서 전자 갑문은 여객의 디지털 여행 자격증명을 스캔하여 여객의 생물특징과 디지털 여행 자격증명의 수치를 비교하여 그들이 통과가 허용되였는가를 검증할 수 있다. 장기적으로 미래에는 전자 갑문이 필요하지 않고 감시 카메라와 카드 리더기를 결합하여 검증할 수 있다.
그러나 하이저 캐피털은 이상과 현실이 여전히 큰 차이가 있다고 생각한다. 시범 프로젝트는 이 기술의 가용성을 증명할 수 있지만, 디지털 여행 자격증명은 결국 지정학적 신뢰 문제와 관련될 것이다. 이전 코로나 디지털 인증서는 각국의 합의점을 찾지 못했다. 이제 여권을 디지털 여행 자격증명으로 대체하는 것은 더욱 어려워질 것이다. 물론 디지털 여행 자격증명은 여전히 유럽과 미국, 중국과 동남아시아, 중동과 남미와 같은 특정 국가 사이에서 사용될 가능성이 있다.
