近期OTA巨頭Booking(NASDAQ: BKNG)亞洲子公司Agoda的CEO Omri Morgenshtern，在日經亞洲評論東亞旅遊業的文章中表示，2023年前5個月，越南旅遊業的增速快於泰國，在亞洲目的地中排名第三，僅次於日本和泰國。海擇資本藉此熱點爬梳各國觀光局公開數據，並做解讀如下：
1. 越南國際旅客數超馬趕中：2023年前5月，越南的入境旅遊數據確實增加很快，在亞洲目的地中排名第三(460萬遊客)，次於泰國(1,060萬)與日本(864萬)，超越了復甦較慢的馬來西亞與中國。而2019年越南僅排名第七，其前依序為中國、泰國、日本、馬來西亞、香港、澳門。
2. 泰國復甦力道不差：泰國2023年前5月共接待國際遊客1,060萬人次，已達2019年全年的27%，並完成政府全年指標的42%。泰國旅遊業在2019年貢獻全國GDP的20%，估計今年仍占重要比重。
3. 泰越兩地的復甦速度相似：據越南統計局數據，2023年前5月，越南接待國際遊客近460萬人次，約為2019年的26%，達到政府全年指標的58%。若以2019年的國際遊客數據相比，兩國回覆速度其實差不多，看起來越南的指標達成率比較高，主要是政府原本給的預期很低。

Recently, Agoda CEO Omri Morgenshtern revealed with Nikkei that Vietnam's tourism industry has experienced faster growth than Thailand in the first five months of 2023. Vietnam now ranks third among Asian destinations, following Japan and Thailand. Haize Capital has compiled publicly available data from various national tourism boards, with interpretation as follows:
1. Vietnam surpasses Malaysia and China in international tourist arrivals: In the first five months of 2023, Vietnam has indeed experienced a rapid increase in inbound tourism, ranking third among Asian destinations with 4.6 million inbound visitors. Only less than Thailand (10.6 million) and Japan (8.64 million), surpassing the slower-recovering countries of Malaysia and China. In 2019, Vietnam was only ranked seventh, with China, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macau ahead of it.
2. Thailand has strong recovery momentum: In the first five months of 2023, Thailand welcomed a total of 10.6 million international tourists, reaching 27% of the total for the entire year of 2019 and achieving 42% of the government's annual target. The tourism industry in Thailand contributed 20% to the country's GDP in 2019, and it is estimated to maintain a significant share this year as well.
3. Similar pace of recovery between Thailand and Vietnam: According to data from the Vietnamese Statistics Office, Vietnam received nearly 4.6 million international tourists in the first five months of 2023, which is approximately 26% of the total for 2019 and 58% of the government's annual target. When comparing the international tourist arrivals to the numbers in 2019, the recovery rates of the two countries are actually quite similar. However, it appears that Vietnam has a higher achievement rate in reaching its targets, mainly because the government set relatively low expectations initially.

최근 아고다(Agoda)의 CEO인 Omri Morgenshtern은 2023년까지 5개월 동안 베트남 관광 산업의 성장 속도가 태국을 능가했다고 닛케이에 밝혔다. 베트남은 현재 아시아 여행지 중 일본과 태국에 이어 3위를 차지한다. 하이저 캐피털은 각국 관광청의 공개 데이터를 정리하여 다음과 같이 분석했다.

3. 태국과 베트남 간의 회복 속도는 비슷하다. 베트남 통계청에 따르면 베트남은 2023년까지 5개월 동안 460만 명에 가까운 해외 입국 관광객을 접대해 2019년 전체의 약 26%, 정부 연간 지표의 58%를 차지했다. 2019년 해외 입국 관광객 수를 2019년 수치와 비교하면 양국의 회복 속도는 사실상 매우 비슷하다. 그러나 베트남이 지표 완료율에서 더 높은 것은 정부가 상대적으로 낮은 전망을 설정했기 때문이다.
