近期，WTTC(The World Travel & Tourism Council, 世界旅遊理事會)公告"2023年旅遊經濟影響全球趨勢報告(Travel & Tourism Economic Impact 2023 Global Trends Report)，提供了全球疫情前後的旅遊投資金額對比，涵蓋區域別與國別，相關數據可以做為有興趣者參考。
根據WTTC統計，2010年至2019年，全球旅遊投資總額以4.3%的年複合增長率穩定成長，從2010年的7,546億美元成長到2019年的1.1兆美元，佔全球整體經濟投資額的4.5%。隨著Covid-19發生，對旅遊投資造成重創，2020年總額下降24%，2021年再下降8%；然而，2022年成為轉捩點，基於報復性需求刺激，旅遊業投資激增至8,560 億美元，YoY成長11.1%。
WTTC預估2023年投資總額YoY將成長11.5%，達到9,550億美元；其後在2025年將恢復達疫情前規模，預計截至2033年，全球將以年複合增長率6.1%的速度繼續成長。
按洲際劃分，亞太和非洲的2022年投資比2000年成長161%，成長尤為強勁；疫情爆發前，WTTC統計非洲旅遊業年增率為5%，對GDP的平均貢獻率為8.5%；此外，旅遊業在非洲的直接投資約為290億美元，為2,430萬旅遊業員工直接創造了就業機會，佔非洲總勞動人口的6.4%。若看其他區域，歐洲和中東地區的投資並沒有顯著成長。
按國家劃分，美國的旅遊業投資以2,130億美元居於榜首，中國以1,460億美元緊隨其後，沙烏地阿拉伯則以420億美元位居第三。

Recently, the WTTC (The World Travel & Tourism Council) released the "Travel & Tourism Economic Impact 2023 Global Trends Report," providing a comparison of global travel investment amounts before and after the pandemic.
According to WTTC, from 2010 to 2019, the total global travel investment grew steadily at an annual compound growth rate of 4.3%, increasing from 754.6 billion USD in 2010 to 1.1 trillion USD in 2019, accounting for 4.5% of the global total economic investment. With the onset of Covid-19, travel investment took a severe hit, declining by 24% in 2020 and a further 8% in 2021; however, 2022 became a turning point, with travel industry investment surging to 856 billion USD due to stimulated retaliatory demand, representing a YoY growth of 11.1%.
WTTC forecasts that the total travel industry investment in 2023 will grow by 11.5% YoY, reaching 955 billion USD. Subsequently, it is expected to recover to pre-pandemic levels by 2025. The projection anticipates that, up to the year 2033, the world travel industry investment will continue to grow at an annual compound growth rate of 6.1%.
Divided by regions, the 2022 investment in Asia-Pacific and Africa has grown by 161% compared to 2000, showing particularly strong growth. Before the outbreak of the pandemic, WTTC statistics showed that the annual growth rate of Africa's tourism industry was 5%, with an average contribution to GDP of 8.5%. Moreover, the direct investment in the tourism industry in Africa was approximately 29 billion USD, creating around 24.3 million jobs in the tourism industry, accounting for 6.4% of the total labor force in Africa. Looking at other regions, investment in Europe and the Middle East did not show significant growth.
When divided by country, the United States leads in tourism industry investment with 213 billion USD, followed closely by China with 146 billion USD, and Saudi Arabia ranks third with 42 billion USD.
