2021年2月，東京的常住人口歷經超過24年，首次出現人口下滑。
一般直觀上認為與新冠疫情影響有關，不過歐美公司對於遠距工作的態度更為開放，除了在家工作，也能接受在目的地遠端工作；過去我們認為日本企業只能接受在家工作，是否能更開放的接受員工在各個不同的目的地工作，還值得觀察。

2021年2月時点の東京人口（推計）は、24年ぶりに前年を下回った。
直感的には、これは新型コロナの影响と関係があると思われているが、日本企業に比べると欧米企業はテレワークに対する態度がよりオープンで、在宅勤務も観光地でのリモートワークも許可することができる。過去において日本では在宅勤務というテレワークのみを認めていると思われている。もっとオープンに職員のさまざまな観光地でのテレワークを認められるかどうか、観察する価値がある。
